1. When Bilbo has a disagreement with himself, it keeps the story going because your wondering if he will go on the adventure or not. That is why it keeps the story going. Marco, you need to look at the others' responses. This is not a wiki response. This is a sentence. Read Read Douglas's, Thomas's, Coco's, or Bell's. Thanks. ~ Mrs. Best
2. This is what happened in the forest. They where on the edge of the forest when the wolves came after them. So they climbed up trees because the wolves can't climb up a tree. Then the fire caught on to one the wolves and it spread to the other wolves. Then the goblins came and made the fire spread from the wolves to the trees where Gandalf, Bilbo, and the dwarves where sitting in, but luckily the eagles came and chased the goblins and wolves away and saved Gandalf, Bilbo, and the dwarves in just the knick of time to because the fire almost swallowed them whole. ?Where did a fire come from? Why did the goblins come? It was just the wargs at first... right? Better... but still too brief. ~Mrs. Best
Alex Kocab 3/4/11 Reading-6 I guess you could put it that way but that isn't the biggest reason why the story goes on. You couldn't said because of the problems they run into while they are going get the treasure back. You also misunderstood the question. You never picked a conflict. You also need more detail, but overall, good job.
3. A time where I had to grow and change was when I had to give up my turtle, Squirt. I caught him up at my cottage with a little help from my cousins. They were sad that they didn't get a turtle, so I helped them find one, and sure enough, we caught one down by the lake. They were both really tiny painted turtles. That night it was stormy and every hour we would go check on the box with the turtles in it. We gave them some fruit to eat. A chipmunk came and took my cousins turtle mistaking it for a fruit and ran off. My cousins were sad but, not as sad as I was five months later. Five months later Squirt wasn't eating, so I had to let him go in the Brown Deer Golf Course Pond. I had to man up and get over it. That is how I had to change. ~ How does this connect to our story? How do you get over something like that? What do you say to yourself to help get through a tough time? ~Mrs. Best
4. I think Thorin would have changed his mind about being greedy because then they would have been friends with the elves and the men in the first place. Thorin even said that he would take back his words at the gate.
~ Marco, this is not a thorough response. We have read samples. You needed to cite text, and make good connections. ~ Mrs. Best
